I submitted it to Hackaday and got a response that it will go out in the next day or so. I got a nice response from the writer... Michael, A few months ago people might have looked at this and called it a waste of time. Now that materials are getting more difficult to come by and people are trying t...

Re: Looking at adding a 5.5W LED laser to the CNC
I definitely be interested in experimenting with it, I've always wanted to build a 100w CO2 laser but can't justify the costs, and I'm working on a project now that I need to cut out some stencils and a laser would work out well. I was thinking of adding doing a laser upgrade to my Makergear M2, htt...

Very nice write up with heaps of information to digest. This is on my bucket list to start experimenting with, I have plans to make the box knife drag knife first, then start experimenting.

Re: CNC Rotary Plasma Experiments
Wow, that is so awesome, you've been busy it seems. Just so I understand this correctly, did you switch the Y axis to the Harmonic drive and disconnect the A axis? And there was nothing special done to the GCode?

Re: My first Voice Over Video
What is your end goal with the video's? Are you trying to become a youtube video producer with subscribers so get ad revenue or are you just trying to make your video's clearer for instruction manuals? I think knowing this will help work out how you go about producing the videos.

Re: Harmonic Rotary Drive
Can the UC300eth and another breakout board like the SainSmart 5 Axis Breakout Board , with the Stepper Motor Driver CNC Controller, Stepper Motor Driver Nema tb6600 be used to control the A axis in Mach3. I understand the the UC300eth breakout board allows two ports, would this work or I've been re...

Re: Harmonic Rotary Drive
That's so awesome, I didn't even think of that for cutting angle iron, but it makes total sense. Are you thinking of manually writing the gcode or doing it through a CAM program?

Super Simple 4th Axis
Hi All, Stumbled across this http://www.cncsharktalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1521&start=40 this morning and it intrigued me, thought I would share here to see what others thought. Also found a 4th axis on Rockler http://www.rockler.com/4th-axis-for-cnc-shark for $800, wondering if anyone ha...

Feedrates for cutting G10 (Fiberglass)
Hi All, I have a sheet of 1/16" G10 that I'm cutting and I'm having difficulty with the suggested feed rates for cutting it. I can't seem to find much consistent information. Has anyone had success in cutting it? I've purchased these Diamond Cut Bits http://precisebits.com/products/carbidebits/...

Without a doubt, the KRMx02 was a joy to build. I have had mine for many months now and it has been working flawlessly. I am continually impressed with the upgrades that keep appearing for this machine and the willingness to make it better and more capable. (Not to say it needs anything from the bas...

Replicating a part for CNC
Hi, I have an existing CNC'd part that was cut from Carbon fiber which I would like to replicate and cut on my KRMx02. It's a part that fits into an existing structure so it needs to be very precise. I was thinking of going down the path of a Digital Probe (don't really know how to do this) if this ...
