Hi folks - after building a couple CNC's from the ground up using the 2 x 4 and plywood approach along with 2" electrical conduit linear system, I decided to get serious about a more robust and production level machine. I've admired the KRMx02 for a long time. So, here we go.
After reviewing the plans a couple times I have a question or two for folks that have already taken this journey.
1.) The aluminum extrusion cross member supports that go under the machine and rest on the stand/table. I don't see any provision for attaching them physically to the stand/table (?) Is that correct? If so it seems odd to me...
2.) When CNCRouter parts became AVID it appears that many of the sourced parts listed in the plans are no longer available: "High-Z-Plate", 1/2 - 10 5 start ACME nut, etc.
Any guidance will be greatly appreciated. I wish I would have built this 10 years ago. Thanks

Re: Starting a New Build
My KRMx02 3030s have rested on the wood stand I built for it without connection between the extrusions and the 4x4 wood. Never experienced any issues.
As to the parts, I presume the supplier hasn't provided suggested replacements?

Ditto. No connection, works ine. Damned thing is heavy.
Can't help with sourcing the parts, but note that I machined my own (Z plate), their prices were too high.
There are other sources for lead screws and nuts
