How flat is your 80/20 profile….?

Post by mxj »

I bought the pre-cut and taped profile pack from 80/20 at double the price here in Australia, that what it cost in the US. When I lie the X beam down on a flat surface, it has a slight twist in it, enough to be able to rock it. According to 80/20 standards the tolerance is “Twist per foot of length not to exceed .25 degree and total twist over 20 feet of length not to exceed 1.5 degree”

When I place the Y beams upright, like the position they are going to be mounted in, it rocks from side to side, on both the sides, as if it has a high ridge in the middle.
According to 80/20 standards the tolerance is “Flatness .004” per inch of width”

Did you guys experience any problems like this problem in the US?

Cheers

Never. If I have any bending or even the slightest dammage I have them replace the part.

I have heard of this happening, but I also heard that 8020 is very good about making things right, I would give them a call.

In any case, if it rocks on a flat surface then it's out of tolerance.
