Lower cost bits

Post by chopper »

I”m thinking of getting this chuck for my hitachi so I can use some lower cost bits. This is the chuck I 'm thinking about for my Hitachi M12VC http://www.precisebits.com/products/equ ... !!Kit!!!PG!!!

I,m hoping to use 1/8 sized bits at a lower cost, and buy some of these.

Thoughts?

I like the precise bits collets, and the kit with 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 for $90 is a fair deal.

The bit at aliexpress, however, is $50. Doesn't seem like "lower cost" when compared to an Onsrud 63-620 for example. What am I missing?

EDIT: Ah, that's $50 for FIVE bits. Definitely a bargain.

Don't know where you are getting your Onsrud 63-120 as I get mine for $30.

Yes, $30 is about right.

I was commenting that a "single bit" at $50 was expensive, more than the Onsrud. Then I realized the offer was for 5 bits, so $10 a bit, which is less than the Onsrud by a decent amount.

For me, I prefer the Onsrud over a Chinese bit, but that more a political thing than a practical one. And I don't discuss politics in writing

You can say it here. Crap is crap. Its a shame that we are not allowed to point this out on other forums.
